Jack B. Bewsey, 86, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
He was born November 10, 1929, in Frankfort, to Floyd and Hannah Stuckey Bewsey. On June 9, 1950, he married Barbara Myers; she survives.
Jack graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1948. He worked as a mechanic at the Round House with the Nickel Plate Railroad, lineman for Frankfort City Light and Power, and later retired from Delco-Remy in 1996, after 20 years of machine repair. Jack was a member of First Christian Church in Frankfort, where he also served as Deacon and Elder and sang in the choir. He also served as a mentor to the children of Kyger Schools. Jack enjoyed dancing with his girl, golfing, woodworking, and bowling in the league with the Frankfort City Light and Power. Jack loved his family dearly.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his son, Jeff (Josie) Bewsey of Sylva, NC; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Jones of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kevin (Megan) and Keith Jones and Kyle and Kellen Bewsey; and one great grandson, Austin Jones.
Jack is preceded in death by parents, one sister, Betty; and three brothers, Ralph, Gerald, Roland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:30 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home. Memorials in Jackâs name may be made to First Christian Church Choir.
