Jack Lee Hiatt, 86, of Rossville, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1938, in Lafayette to Wayne and Kathryn (Swartz). He married Mary Nell Douglas on March 17, 1961, and she survives.
Jack was a graduate of Martinsville High School, class of 1957. He served in the United States National Guard for 6 years. He worked for Eli Lilly for 27 years until his retirement in 1994. He served at the Delphi Food Pantry, on the Lilly Fire Department, Rossville Volunteer Fire Department, and Rossville Deputy. He was a member of Kilmore United Methodist Church.
Along with his wife of 62 years, Jack is survived by his children, Justine (Randy) Haggard and Mark (Kelly) Hiatt, both of Rossville; grandchildren Heather (Derek) Schermer, Brandon (Claire) Haggard, Matthew Hiatt, and Jenelle (Brendon) Rowland; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Pastor Craig Overman will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s honor to Kilmore United Methodist Church and Delphi Food Pantry.
