Jack Hysel, 83, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
He was born April 24, 1930, in Macomb, Ill., the son of Maurice and Vera Griffith Hysel. On December 2, 1950, he married the former Betty Matheis in Springfield, Ill.; she survives.
Jack graduated from Macomb High School in 1948 and later from Wesleyan Olivet Nazarene College. He was ordained in 1952 to begin his ministry with the Wesleyan Methodist Church for over 50 years before retiring in 1992. Jack was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Pennsylvania and attended Bible Holiness Church in Frankfort. He was a watch and clock maker in addition to being an amateur radio operator. Jack enjoyed working on his computer.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two daughters, Betty (Reed) Cooper of Frankfort and Jacqueline (Jerry) Kwasigroh of Kirklin; five grandchildren, Jerry (Janiece) Cooper, Alan (Janelle) Cooper, Elizabeth (Tony) Banes, Jessica (Darin) Lipp, and Jonathan (Breana) Kwasigroh; 14 great grandchildren, and one brother, Ramon Hysel of Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Victor, and one sister, Betty.
Visitation for Jack will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 10:00 a.m. to the beginning of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Mark Mowery will officiate.
