Jackie M. Smith, 74, 7828 S. Madison Ave., Indianapolis died at 4:30 a.m.
May 30, 2011 at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Smith was born June 2, 1936 in Frankfort to John and Bonnie (Campbell)
Smith. He worked for Shiff Shoes in sales in Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, and
Tennesee; for Tovey Shoes specializing in Pedorthic inserts; and later was
a jailer for the Clinton County Sheriffâs Office.
He was a former member of Moose, Eagles and Masonic lodges; graduated from
Frankfort High Senior School in 1954; studied at several universities;
drove in a modified car series pre-NASCAR in the 1970âs and 1980âs; and
enjoyed country and western dancing
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle (husband Douglas) Rose and Marsha
Scott, both of Frankfort; one son, Michael D. (companion Roberta) Smith,
of Frankfort; one step-sister, Diana Campbell of Georgia; two
step-brothers, Gary Zink and Terry Zink, both of Frankfort; six
grandchildren, Brandy, Jessica, Daniel, Jennifer, Amy and Sara; and one
great-grandchild, Cheyanne.
He was preceded in death by a step-father, Theron Zink.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Bunnell
Cemetery. Pastor Ed Pearson will officiate the services.
