Jacob Ryan Brooks

Jacob Ryan “Jake” Brooks, 27, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Jake was born June 10, 1987, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Bryan and April Phillips Brooks; his mother survives in Frankfort.

Jake graduated Frankfort Senior High School in 2006 and attended Vincennes University.  He worked as a clerk at Advanced Auto Parts.  Jake enjoyed working on his truck with his dad and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

In addition to his mother, Jake is survived by his paternal grandmother, Shirley Brooks of Florida; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Frieda Phillips of Lafayette; sister, Chelsea Brooks of Frankfort; brother, Troy Brooks of Frankfort; aunt, Wendy Fearnow of Frankfort; uncles, Tyler Phillips and Doug Swanson, both of Minnesota; and several cousins.

In addition to his father, Jake is preceded in death by grandfather, Troy; and grandmother, Betty.

Visitation for Jake will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 3:00 p.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m.  Pastor Paul Whitaker will officiate.  Memorials in Jake’s name may be made to the Oxalosis and Hyperoxaluria Foundation.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
