Jacob Wayne Fish, 27, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born November 17, 1987, in Frankfort; his parents, Missy (Carl) Morrison and Larry (Tina) Fish survive. On July 12, 2015, he married his high school sweetheart, Danielle Stevenson, in Gulf Shores, Al, surrounded by family; she survives in Ft. Wayne.
Jacob graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 2006. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from IPFW in May, 2015. Jacob worked as a substitute teacher for Ft. Wayne Community Schools where his passion for teaching emanated throughout the classroom. He also worked part-time as a material handler at Frito-Lay. Jacob had a competitive spirit that was present in everything he did from participating in fantasy football leagues to competing with friends playing pick-up basketball games. There was nothing he loved more in life than his wife and sports; in fact, he thought he was the luckiest man on Earth for marrying a woman that shared the same passion for sports as he did. He was an avid Florida Gators fan but also supported his wifeâs favorite college team, Purdue. Jacob always looked forward to the fall because of hunting and football season. Jacob enjoyed hunting with his father and fishing with his father and step-father. Jacob, âUnkie,â adored his niece, Sydney, and his nephew, Kai; he took advantage of any opportunity to spend time with them, acting like a big kid himself. Jacob loved life, family, and making others around him laugh and smile.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jacob is survived by his siblings, Jessi Fish, Heather Morrison, Abby Burkhalter, and Matt Burkhalter; niece, Sydney Stevenson; nephew, Kai Horton; grandparents, Helon Bushman, Larry and Sharon Fish, Sandi Fish, and Thomas and Jonetta Zufall; mother and father-in-law, Sandra and Dan Stevenson; sister-in-law, Paige Stevenson; brother-in-law, Bryce Stevenson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
