Jacque Cooper

Jacque Vonne Cooper, 74, of Rossville, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

Born July 18, 1947, in Lafayette, Jacque was the daughter of Fred and Freida (Roth) Clendenning.  She married the love of her life, Robert “Dan” Cooper, in Sedalia, on May 22, 1966.

After graduating from Rossville High School in 1965, Jacque attended Lafayette Business School, which prepared her for her career as an entrepreneur and business owner of Jacque’s Flowers.  She was also a collectables dealer, interior designer, worked as an Activity Director at Tippecanoe Villa, worked with Habitat for Humanity, and was a stockholder for Angel Hill Golf Course in Rossville.

Jacque was an active member of Rossville UMC where she taught Sunday School for many years, assisted with MYF and Adventure Club, served on the Pastor Parish Committee, ran Chat & Chew, and participated in LRE visits.  She was also an avid golfer, bird watcher, loved to watercolor paint, served as treasurer for the Rossville Class of ’65, and to her grandkids, was the loving “Oma”.

Along with her husband, Jacque is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dilling-Zanker of Lafayette; her son, Rob (Tammy) Cooper of Rossville; grandchildren, Rhett Dilling, Brinsley (Joshua) Lytle, Addison Cooper, Samantha Glassley, Jonathan Zanker, and Jeffrey Zanker; great-grandchildren, Jude, Jett, Vivian, and Sylvia; sisters, Winifred (Ed) Beard, Phyllis Hodgen, and Mary (Sam) Scheiry; and brothers, Alan (Dorothy) Clendenning and Dan (Mary Lou) Clendenning. 

One grandson, Brayton “Buck” Cooper, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 27, 2022, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home~Rossville Chapel.  Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Raschka officiating and will be live streamed.  Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.  Memorials in Jacque’s name may be made to Rossville UMC or Paul Phillippe Resource Center in Frankfort.
