Jacqueline Helenann Kemna

Jacqueline Helenann Kamhout Kemna of Nappanee passed away at the age of 89 on April 23, 2014.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the only child of Edna Ramsey Kamhout and Maurice Clarence Kamhout.  Her husband and classmate, Lewis Herman Kemna, preceded her in death.  

She is survived by two daughters, Kristina Lynn Bucher (David) Warsaw, Ind.,  and Lou Ann Ward of Nappanee, Ind.; four grandchildren, Heather Huffman of Atlanta, Ga., Deana Lynn Glass (Emmitt) of Fishers, Ind., Denise Marie Krebs (Matt), Wyoming, Mich., and Heath Alexander Huffman (Amy) of South Bend, Ind.; seven great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.

Helenann was a caring mother and enjoyed being a farm wife, living on her husband’s farm southwest of Perrysville, Ind. for over 50 years.  She retired in 1984 after working 25 years at the VA Hospital in Danville, Ill.  After retirement, she and Lewis spent their winters in Intercession, Fla.  They enjoyed camping, travel, warm weather and making new friends.

A graveside service will be held at Old Atherton Cemetery in Danville, Ill. on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. CDT with Pastor John Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in the Old Atherton Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to David Bodine with Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
