James Coy Nance, Jr., 76, 1407 E. Walnut Street Frankfort, died at 5:25
p.m. June 3, 2011 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Nance was born Aug. 22, 1934 in Clinton County to James Coy and Ethel
M. (Williams) Nance Sr. He married Delores Mann on Nov. 12, 1954 and she
survives.
He drove a truck for Frazier Dairy, Roush Trucking, Harmeson Manufacturing
and Frito Lay Traffic, from which he retired in 1996.
The lifelong resident of Frankfort belonged to the First Baptist Church in
Frankfort where he served as trustee, and the Moose Lodge.
Jim bowled in leagues for 30 years with the Moose Lodge and others. Jim
fished, played cards, watched football, NASCAR and was an avid IU fan.
Jim was a man of faith who loved his family and friends
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Delores, of Frankfort; sons Richard
(wife Marsha) Nance and Bruce (wife Pam) Nance, both of Frankfort; a
daughter Janet Thomas, also of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Ryan (wife
Jenny) Nance, Melissa and (husband Sam) Chambers, Laura Thomas, Luke Nance
and Katie Nance; one great-granddaughter Addison Nance; three sisters,
Judy Collier of Thorntown, Sybil (husband David) Kouns of Lebanon, and
Connie (husband John) Foster of Lafayette; and one brother, Ron (wife
Kathy) Nance of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Virginia Browning;
and one brother, Jack Nance.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Genda
Funeral Home. Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate the services. Calling
will occur from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the funeral home.
Burial will occur in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
