James A. âJimâ Cripe, 67, of Flora, passed away on Friday May 12, 2017, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, N.C. He was born Dec. 7, 1949, in Cass County, Ind., the son of the Paul Cripe and Margaret (Hayes) Wagoner. He was a graduate of Carroll High School in 1969. After high school, Jim joined the U.S. Army, where he served 14 months with the 82nd Field Artillery in Vietnam and during his time he received the Bronze Star. He worked for Wabash National and before that he was a truck driver. He was a member of the Flora Christian Church. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, and enjoyed watching NASCAR races.
Surviving are five sons, James, Tom, Benjamin, Greg and Andrew Cripe; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Janice Johnson (Lowell) of Flora and JoAnn Pullen of Lebanon.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Lois Jean Huff; and a brother-in-law, Dwight Pullen.
No services will be held at this time; Jim wishes were to be cremated. Arrangements were
