Jared Lee Hensley

Jared Lee Hensley, 41, Lafayette, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Franciscan Health Hospital Indianapolis.  He was born January 28, 1982, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Dwight and Kim (Sanders) Hensley.  He married Modupe Precious on May 15, 2019, in Indianapolis and she survives.

Jared was a graduate of Clinton Central High School in 2000. He worked several jobs through the years including The Bureau of Motor Vehicles and as a Customer Service Representative for Elevence Health.  He attended the Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene.  He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, grilling out, watching football, and watching movies.  He was a fun-loving guy with a great sense of humor, and was kind and soft spoken, which got him the nickname the “Gentle Giant.”  He was a wonderful husband, father, loved his family and enjoyed making memories and spending time with them.

Along with his wife of 4 years, Jared is survived by his mother; children, Kara and Kieson Hensley; siblings, Season Hensley, Jeremy (Jennifer) Hensley, Shannon Hensley, and Jordan Hensley; brother-in-law, Timothy Adedoyin; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Kenneth and Evelyn Sanders, and Fred Hensley.

Visitation will be held, Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene.  Pastor Gordon Smith will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jared’s honor to the family to assist with funeral expenses.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
