Javier Pozos

Javier Pozos, 84, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at I.U. Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born on September 18, 1935 in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico to Pedro and Aurelia Larraga de Pozos. He married Guadalupe Garcia de Pozos on December 16, 1972; she survives. 

Javier graduated high school in Mexico and furthered his education by receiving a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy Engineering. He had been an engineer in Mexico for many years. He was also a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Frankfort.

Along with his wife of 47 years, Javier is survived by his children; Pedro (Yuri Andrade) de Pozos and Belinda (Francisco Vega) de Pozos both of Frankfort and Ilianne (Bruno Torres) de Pozos of Lafayette; brother, Virgilio Pozos Larraga of Mexico City, Mexico, and sister Socorro Pozos de Arenas of San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and grandchildren, Esly, Yadeen, Yaquelynn, Javier, Franzel, Ilyanne, Pedro, Josue, and Millie Pozos, Enoc, Elias, and Nayomi Torres, and Francisco Vega.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joel and Horacio Pozos Larraga.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
