Jean A Callane

Jean A. Callane, 91, of Flora, passed away on Monday morning, April 11, 2016, at North Woods Village Senior Community in Kokomo.

Jean was born on May 26, 1924 in Flora, IN to Dallas Smoyer and Blanche Platt Smoyer. Jean was a 1942 graduate of Camden High School and retired from Peter Reminton in Delphi, IN. She married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Callane in 1960. He preceded her in death in 2002. Jean truly loved her family more than anything. She helped raise her grandchildren and never had a harsh word to say about anyone.

Survivors include her three grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew and Rebecca and two great-grandchildren, Desiree and Bentley. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister, Jane and her son, Kenneth.

Graveside funeral services for Jean Callane will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving guests at at Genda Funeral Home, Reinke Chapel in Flora from 11:00 am until 12:30 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or memorial contributions can be made in Jean’s name to Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
