Jeanne Daywitt, 90, passed away Saturday Feb. 25, 2012 in Indianapolis at the Altenheim following an extended illness.
Jeanne was born Jan. 31, 1922 in Frankfort, to the late Daniel Martin and Mable Diane (Harmon) Daywitt.
She was a 1940 graduate of Frankfort High School and was a member of the Episcopalian Church in Maryland. Jeanne received her nursing degree from Indiana University and her masterâs degree from Catholic University in Maryland. Jeanne was also an avid reader and gardener. Jeanne served her country in WWII as an Army Nurse. After the war she began working as a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington D.C. She retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital and then worked at Leonardtown, Md.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Glenda Daywitt and Virginia âJeanâ Daywitt; a niece: Patricia Daywitt; and three nephews: Daniel Daywitt, Steven Daywitt, and Timothy Daywitt.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Joseph Daywitt and Robert Daywitt; and one nephew: Larry Daywitt.
Private family services will take place with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
