Jerlyn Jean Andrews, 63, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born March 22, 1950, in Frankfort, the daughter of George Ray and Lela Marie Redman Shaff. Jerlyn was formerly married to Larry âBeakâ Louks; he passed away in 1998. In 1992, she married Andy Andrews; he passed away in 1997.
Jerlyn attended Frankfort Schools and later achieved her GED. She went on to receive her CNA certification. Jerlyn worked as a CNA at Clinton House and later retired from Wesley Manor due to health issues. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo and going to garage sales. Jerlyn was an avid Hoosier Lottery player. Her door was always open to her friends and offered kids a safe place to stay.
Surviving Jerlyn are companion, Bill Gleason of Frankfort; two sons, Alvie Louks of Frankfort and Bill (Jodi) Gleason II of Salem; two daughters, Kristal Albaugh of Tipton and Jerlyn âJayâ (Mike) Arthur of Colfax; two brothers, Thomas Shaff of Railto, CA and Jerry D. (Becci) Shaff of Frankfort; half brother, Richard Baker of Kansas; three grandchildren, Danielle, Peyton, and Danica; special nieces, Vickie and Tina; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, Jerlyn is preceded in death by her parents, half sister, Phyllis East; brother, Kenneth Shaff, Sr.; and half brother, Hulbert âDocâ Baker.
Visitation for Jerlyn will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
