Jerret K. Schiery, 76, of Rossville, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 20204 at his home. He was born February 27, 1948, in Clinton County to the late Kenneth P. and Garnett (Fenstermaker) Schiery. He married Rovena Tull on January 28, 1967, and she survives.
Jerret was a 1967 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. He worked as the mill foreman at Henry Poor Lumber Company for 45 years until his retirement December 30, 2021. He was a brilliant carpenter that could build anything you asked. Many family members have pieces of his artwork.
Family meant the world to Jerret. He would do anything for his family. He enjoyed spending time with them, whether it be playing on the floor with the grandkids or great grandkids, helping build bookcases, or being out in the shop helping the older kids.
Along with his wife of 57 years, Jerret is survived by his daughter, Michele (Susan Grasso); sons, James (Angie) and Nicholas (Donnell); grandchildren, Benjamin Schiery, Tasha Nicole, Johnathan (Amanda) Schiery, Amy Baker, Alexis (Christopher) Thomas, and Brooklynn (Aydan) Schiery; fourteen great grandchildren; and sisters, Lavaun Stewart, Marilyn (Wayne) Cline, and Mary (Andy) Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles, Donald and Raymond Schiery.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, from 5-8pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 13 at 11am the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry. Memorial contributions may be made in Jerret’s honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
