Joan Cory
Joan Cory, 74, of Frankfort, passed away on Friday evening, June 3, 2016, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
She was born July 1, 1941, to Charles and Marie Parish Weaver. On June 10, 1959, she married Wayne Cory, who passed away January 31, 2007.
Joan graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1959. She was a homemaker. Joan was a good mother who also enjoyed laughter, cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, playing Bingo and spending time with family especially the grandchildren. Joan was a member of the Mulberry Baptist Church.
Joan is survived by her children, Chuck and Macon Cory and Angie Treece; sisters, Carolyn Strahl, Betty Fisher, Nancy Cooper, Linda Bazzani, Charla McMurtrey; brothers, John Weaver and Donnie Weaver; eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Joan is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha Day.
She will mostly be remembered by her selfless giving nature.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 10 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
