JoAnn Smith

JoAnn Smith, 95, of Noblesville, formerly of Flora, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Harbour Manor and The Lodge .  She was born June 22, 1924 in Delphi to Fred and Gladys (Flora) Griffith.  She was a 1942 graduate of Flora High School.   She married the late Jack Richard Smith on November 22, 1941.  JoAnn was a member of Flora First Christian Church where she played the organ for 72 years.  She was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, and Carroll County Homemakers Extension Chorus.   She enjoyed knitting, golfing, traveling, collecting antiques, and volunteering in the community.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Anthony Griffith (Sue) Smith of Noblesville; daughter, Sherry Ann (Dale) Myer of Cos Cob, CT; grandchild, Adrienne (Patrick) Bohannon; great grandchildren, Lucy and Andrew Bohannon; two step-grandchildren, Shannon Hartman and Brett (Lindsey) Flynn; and four step-great grandchildren, Dylan, Eric, Jacob and Ryan.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Flora First Christian Church.  Pastor Kim Holley will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.  Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.
