John Robert Anderson Sr.

John Robert Anderson Sr., 80, of Edna Mills, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at his residence.

He was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Rensselaer, to Claybert and Lorene (Beoughter) Anderson. He married Betty Ann West March 2, 1956. She preceded him in death Oc. 12, 2007.

He graduated from Remington High School in 1950, and was a diesel mechanic for over 55 years, worked for Russell Davis for 32 years, Johnny Benson for 10 years and then Fairfield for 15 years before retiring in 1992. A U.S. Army veteran, he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in his yard. He liked trying to fix anything that was broken.

He is survived by a son: John Anderson Jr. of Edna Mills; two daughters: Jill Ann
(Don Jr.) West Thompson of Rossville and Teresa E. (Tom) Pearson of Cutler; four grandchildren: Brooke (Jason) Thompson Petras of Calif., Michael Anderson of Lafayette, Ashley Anderson of Michigantown and Katie (companion Cody Ayres) Pearson of Cutler; two great-grandchildren: Spiro and Drake; two sisters: Francine (Johnny) Lintner of Frankfort and Mary Davis of Evansville.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister: Betty; and brother: Bill.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery with military burial rites. Memorials may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Society.
