John Ross Galvin, 82 of Frankfort died on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Saint E. East, Lafayette. He was born April 24, 1934 in Frankfort to Frank and Mary (Stern) Galvin.
John graduated from Colfax High School in 1952 and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service, a farmer, former car body shop owner and also owned a mowing business. John was a member of F & AM Masonic Lodge #9 in Lebanon. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog babies, Josie and Skeeter.
Surviving family includes son Frank (Kristi) Galvin and Tena Galvin, of Frankfort; step-son Russell Whitis, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Martha Bridges, of Linton; Shirley Egelhoff, of Geetingsville and special friends and confidants, Cathy Cole and Tim Tarter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Galvin and George Galvin.
The funeral service for John Galvin will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Genda Funeral Home, Frankfort with Pastor Ken Thompson officiating and will conclude with Military Honors.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home until the time of service. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home.
