Joseph H. Cool, 83, of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Milner Community Healthcare with his daughters by his side.
He was born December 20, 1933, in Muncie, to Frank and Verena Rahe Cool. On August 31, 1963, he married Linda Lou Shaffer; she preceded him in death on July 30, 2009.
Joe graduated from Muncie Central High School and then served in the United States Army from 1953-1956. He was a member of Carpenterâs Local 215 and worked as a heavy construction worker until his retirement in the 1980âs. He then went to work in the building maintenance department at Purdue University. Joe was a member of Grace Baptist Church and life-time member of the N.R.A. His true passion in life was his family.
Surviving Joe are his daughters, Anita Deweese, of Rossville, and Susan (John) Fox, of Plainfield, IL; sister, Joann Ruble, of New Castle; four grandchildren, Kristin Deweese, Julianne Deweese, Ethan Fox, and Leah Fox; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Joe is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John, Charles, James, and Harold; and two sisters, Mary Kathryn Remaklus and Alice Weems.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 5:00 â 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Funeral service for Joe will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery with military honors.
