Joseph âJoeâ Burgin, 61, rural Frankfort, died at 6:09 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at IU Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born June 15, 1950 in Frankfort, to Jack and Mary (Myers) Burgin. He married Sherry Bogan Nov. 5, 1983 and she survives.
A lifetime Clinton County resident, he worked for Exide for 20 years, and also Lake Erie Screw.
He was a graduate of Clinton Central High School, and a member of Eagles Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father of Frankfort and a daughter: Tina; two sons: Joe and Brad; three step-sons: Brian Abbott, Brad Abbot and Mike Abbott; two sisters: Evelyn (Ivan) Lawson of Jonesboro, AR., and Elizabeth Wilson of Brownsburg, IN; three brothers, Jackie (Sheryl) Burgin, of Kirklin, Jerry Burgin of Billings, Mo.; Johnny (wife Janice) of rural Frankfort and one step-brother Bill; one step-sister, Peggy and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-son: Daniel Abbott and two step-brothers, JoJo and Russell.
Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Genda Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
