Josephine S. Sanders, 91, of Lafayette, IN, died October 13,2011, at her sonâs residence.
Born June 15, 1920, in Clinton County, IN, she was the daughter of the late
Carl Vernon & Lessie (Hale) Stong. She graduated from Forest High School in 1937 and Purdue University in 1941and served in the United States Air Force as an officer.
She married Richard D. Sanders, and he passed away on April 9, 2001.
Mrs. Sanders practiced law.
Surviving are a son Charles Sanders (companion Kathy Bebeau) of Lafayette
daughter Rebecca S. Sanders Manwaring (husband Steven) of Lebanon, OH;
5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Alyssa and Kathryn Manwaring, Richard & Cherice Sanders; 2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Daniel Stong Sanders, and 3 sisters, Betty Blackburn, Virginia Yoder and Dora Willey.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held on Saturday. Burial Middlefork Cemetery.
