Joy Ann Briggs

Joy Ann Brim Briggs, 85, of Flora, passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2016, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.  

Joy was born on December 30, 1930, to Rolla Jennings and Mildred Naomi Rosenberger Brim in Flora. She graduated from Flora High School in 1948, and married Joseph T. Briggs who preceded her in death in 1997. Joy was a homemaker and member of the Fort Myers Christian Church and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Briggs Mitchell (Wayne) of Palm Coast, FL, and Brenda Briggs Bonner (Rob) of Flora; two grandchildren, Shelley Hammond (Ian) and Adam Bonner (Erin); one great-grandchild, Ben; and one brother, John Brim of Monticello.

In addition to her husband, Joy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gene Brim.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Joy’s life will be held at Living Faith Church of the Brethren in Flora on February 13, 2016, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Psi Iota Xi, Beta Alpha Chapter, P.O. Box 84, Flora, IN 46929 or to Living Faith Church of the Brethren in Flora.
