Joyce A. Jones

Joyce A. Jones, 81, of Rossville, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Milner Community Healthcare.

She was born September 10, 1936, in Franklin, Ohio, to the late James V. and Virginia M. (Simms) Hadley.  On September 21, 1957, Joyce married Robert E. Jones in Columbus; he preceded her in death on July 8, 2014.

In 1954, Joyce graduated from East High School in Columbus, and from Ohio State University in 1958, receiving her bachelor of science degree in nursing.  Joyce had worked for Dr. Gordon Welk in Rossville for 10 years and most recently had worked part-time for the Purdue Student Health Center as a registered nurse.  She had also been an EMT for 12 years.  Joyce was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, assistant treasurer, and numerous committee chairs.  Joyce was also a member of the Board of Directors of both the Rossville Volunteer Ambulance Service and Milner Community Health Care, and a Friend of the Rossville Library.

Surviving Joyce are her children, Steven (Janet) Jones, of Lafayette, Michael (Lois) Jones, of Dayton, and Betsy Slabaugh, of Gainesville, Fla.; grandsons, Adam Jones, Troy (Jackie) Jones, Tyler (Jordan) Jones, and Nathan Jones; and brother, James R. (Donna) Hadley, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Rossville Presbyterian Church from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Michael Lyle will officiate.  Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.  Memorials in Joyce’s name may be made to Rossville Presbyterian Church.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
