Joyce C. (Beets) Goodnight

Our precious mother Joyce C. Goodnight 78 of Frankfort, Indiana went to her heavenly home on May 2, 2022, at Wesley Manor Retirement Home in Frankfort after an extended illness. She was born on May 19, 1943, to Rex and Dorothy (Crum) Beets. She married the late Morris Goodnight in 1960 and they later divorced.

Joyce lived all her life in the Frankfort area, she attended Michigantown and Clinton Central schools. She graduated from the house of James Beauty School in 1970 and was a Hairdresser in Frankfort for over 20 years, she then worked at Ponderosa Steak House for 18 years as the hostess/cashier. Joyce had a bubbly personality, distinguishable laugh and loved to chat, which made those jobs perfect for her. She loved dancing, music, singing and most of all her family. She was a devout Christian and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church and East Side Christian Church for many years.

Surviving are sons, Kevin (Tammy) Goodnight of Spring Hill Florida, Tony Goodnight, Grandchildren Alicia Horton, Nathan, Chad and James Goodnight all of Frankfort, Brianna Ingram, Krista Himes and Cameron Himes all of Lafayette and 12 Great Grandchildren, sisters, Velma Smith, Linda Jobe, Julia (Larry) Crabtree and Bonnie (Frank) Harness. Brothers, Norman (Carolyn) Beets, David Beets and Raymond (Lonnie) Beets.

Proceeding her in death are her parents; brother Kenneth Beets, Brother-in-law’s Tom Smith and Wayne Jobe and Sister-in-law Kathy Beets.

Visitation will be held, Monday, May 9, 2022, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Pastor Frank Harness will officiate.  Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s honor to the Alzheimer's Society or Dementia Society of America.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.gendafuneral.com.
