K. Elise Witty

K. Elise Witty, 92, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at IU Frankfort Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1925, in Evansville, to Raymond T. and Alberta Hames Couch Sr.  Elise married James W. Witty Sr.; he preceded her in death.

Elise graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville, and later moved to Noblesville.  To be closer to her son, she moved to Frankfort eight years ago.  Elise was a former member of Howell United Methodist Church in Evansville and loved card games and cooking.

Surviving are her son, James W. “Jim” (Sandy) Witty Jr., of Frankfort; brother, Raymond T. “Ray” Couch Jr., of Evansville; sister, Joyce Couch Witherspoon, of Wisconsin; granddaughter, Jody E. Tolan; six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Elise is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Eric.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel at Wesley Manor in Frankfort, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel of Remembrance in Evansville, from 9:30 a.m. to the start of the celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Alexander Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elise’s name may be made to the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
