Karen K Roberts

Karen K. Roberts, 71, of Frankfort, died at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her home.

She was born December 26, 1941, in Clinton County, the daughter of Virgil W. and Lola (Spencer) Dowden.  

Karen graduated from Frankfort High School in 1960.  Throughout her life, she worked for National Cigar for ten years, P.R. Mallory Controls, and retired from Wal-Mart in 2002.  Her grandchildren filled her life which she loved.

Surviving Karen are two sons, Kerry (Cindy) Roberts and Rodney (Melissa) Roberts, both of Frankfort; one daughter, Tammy (Sonny) Martin of Frankfort; two brothers, Mike (Sara) Dowden of Frankfort and Bill (Marybeth) Dowden of Kokomo; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by one son, Kevin Roberts; one sister, Nancy Spray; and one brother, Pat Dowden.

Visitation for Karen will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2013, with Pastor Jeremiah Turner.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.

Memorials in Karen’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
