Karen Sue Garrison, 74, of Lafayette, formerly of Flora, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Rosewalk Village. She was born April 15, 1944 in Kokomo to Max and Margaret (Hicks) Witter. She was a 1962 graduate of Carroll High School and graduate from beauty college in 1962. In 1976 she married Ralph Garrison, he preceded her in death. She worked for Peters- Revington in Delphi in the stain room. She was a member of Flora United Methodist Church where she was very active in the Women’s Group and was known as the “Card Lady” making sure cards of support, love and celebration were sent to people in the church. She also helped with “Extended Family” support group. She was a strong and independent woman that loved the Lord and loved caring for others. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and making quilts.
Karen is survived by her son, Eric Howell of Lafayette; step-sons, Russell (Sherri) Garrison of Lafayette, James (Tina) Garrison of Delphi, and John (Samantha) Garrison of Rockfield; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren and a cat, Midnight.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held, 1pm, Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Flora United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flora United Methodist Church.
