Katherine Ann Cunningham

Katherine Ann Milakis Cunningham, 61, of rural Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

Kathy was born on October 9, 1953, at Lafayette’s Home Hospital to the late Betty Jo Welch Rayburn and Harry Milakis.  On September, 1971, she married Dalas Lee Buck; he preceded her in death on April, 1975.

In 1971, Kathy graduated from Harrison High School.  She was a 4-H Leader and involved in many aspects of the organization.  Kathy was an artist whose skills and talents touched many lives throughout her years as a painter, baker, seamstress, and wedding consultant.  She always had a smile and a front porch that made anyone feel special and welcome.  Kathy spent all her life on the family farm, cultivating her passion for horses.  She loved to watch her children and grandchildren grow up in a rural setting to experience and cherish the lifestyle she grew to adore.  Kathy’s talents and enthusiasm for life were graciously enjoyed by all she touched through her business, “My Heart’s Desire.”  It was that desire that many grew to love.  Kathy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Surviving Kathy are her husband, Clayton Cunningham, whom she married in November, 1977; son, Joshua (Patty) Buck of Lafayette; daughter, Julia Cunningham of Lafayette; sister, Kristina (Don) Hadley of Lafayette; step-father, Delbert (Midge) Rayburn of Calico Rock, AK; step-brothers, Larry (Pat) Rayburn of West Lafayette, and Denny (Rita) of Rochester; and her beloved grandchildren, Kristen Buck, Mark Kinsey, Mitchell Kinsey, and Victoria Kinsey.
