Katherine Tipton, 85, of Frankfort, passed on to Heaven on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 9:30 p.m. at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.
She was born on June 2, 1926, in Rose Hill, VA, the daughter of Cilas and Rose Long Wilder.
Katherine married Noah Tipton; he preceded her in death in April of 1968.
She worked in housekeeping at Clinton House in Frankfort, for 23 years. Katherine was a member of Zion Apostolic Church in Frankfort. She loved to work in her flower gardens and also enjoyed crossword puzzles and quilting.
Surviving are her children, Amy (husband, Phil) Dannewitz of Decatur, IL, Robert Carl (wife, Donna) Tipton of Decatur, IL, Mary (husband, Roger) Taylor of Frankfort, and Martha Hatfield of Rose Hill, VA; and 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, IN, and also on Sunday, September 2, 2012, 3-5 p.m. at Rose Hill Pentecostal Church in Rose Hill, VA.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Rose Hill Pentecostal Church in Rose Hill. Pastor J. Harold Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in McLin Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA.
