Keith Gordon Rothenberger, 75, of Rossville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at his home.
He was born September 25, 1939, to Herman and Thressa Metzger Rothenberger. On November 5, 1960, he married Joann Glenn Rothenberger; she survives.
Keith graduated from Rossville High School in 1957, and attended Purdue University and Lafayette Business College. He served in the US Army in Korea. Following his service, he was employed as a School Bus Driver for Rossville Consolidated School District, a semi-driver for Gray Equipment, and a bus driver for Purdue University Transportation. He also enjoyed farming, working for several years as a dairy and grain farmer. Keith was a member and trustee of Rossville United Methodist Church, a member of the Rossville Lions Club, and also served on the Rossville Township Advisory Board.
In addition to his wife, Keith is survived by two sons, Rex (Janie) Rothenberger of Frankfort, and Michael (Lacretia) Rothenberger of Mulberry; two daughters, Rita Rothenberger (Max Goodin) of New Richmond, and Kimberly (Rob) Shellhamer of Wabash; one brother, Max (Sandy) Rothenberger; twelve grandchildren, Sasha Price, Wesley (Autumn) Smith, Kayla (Zach) Beard, Stephanie Smith, Michela Rothenberger, Aaron Rothenberger, Matthew Goodin, Ethan Rothenberger, Erika Rothenberger, Tyler Goodin, Logan Shellhamer and Eli Shellhamer; and one great-granddaughter, Haillee Price.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nancy, who passed at birth; and one grandson, Benjamin Michael Rothenberger.
Visitation for Keith will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 1 - 5 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Rossville United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian White officiating. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church or to the Rossville Fire Department.
