Kenneth Eugene Long Sr., 61, Mulberry, died at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, as a result of an automobile accident at 1:11 p.m. Aug. 28, 2011.
He was born Oct. 16, 1949 in Frankfort, the son of Daniel E. and Mary Ellen (Wagoner) Long. He married Dee Ann (Rollings) McKelvey June 7, 1969, they had three children and later divorced.
He lived all his life in the Mulberry and Rossville areas and worked at Fairfield in Lafayette since 1974, he was getting ready to retire. He attended schools in Rossville and at Lincoln Tech. Kenny had his pilotâs license and loved to fly. He also enjoyed spending time at Lake Freeman at his lake home, he loved to fish, hunt, play roulette and watch NASCAR.
He is survived by three children: Kenneth Eugene Long Jr. (wife Ar) of Lafayette, William A. Long of Lafayette and Alicia Biddle of Stafford, Texas;a companion of 21 years, Jennifer Leibenguth of Mulberry; two sisters Etta Lehman of Sedalia and Joyce South of Lafayette; one brother Rick Long (wife Patsy) of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Brovont.
Private family services will be Saturday. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry. Memorials may be made to M.A.D.D. or the American Stroke Association.
