Kenneth H. Myer

Kenneth Harold Myer, 98 years old, of Flora, peacefully passed away and went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 1:35 p.m. with his family at his side at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi.

Kenneth was born April 15, 1917, in Flora, to the late John Royce and Mary Lola Clingenpeel Myer.  He was a 1935 graduate of Flora High School.  On February 12, 1939, in Flora, he married the love of his life, Donnabelle Beckner, who survives.  They were married for 77 wonderful years.

For all of his life, Kenneth was a farmer in Carroll County.  The farm was a Hoosier Homestead Farm deeded to the Myer Family by President Andrew Jackson in 1829. He was a member of Flora Presbyterian Church and First Brethren Church and attended Bringhurst United Methodist Church.  Kenneth and his wife enjoyed traveling and visiting with relatives all over the United States.

In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his four sons, Ronald, James (Toni), John, and David (Amy); 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and one sister, Dorothy Irene Yoder.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Bringhurst United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Rev. Richard Kuns, Kenneth’s nephew of Tucson, and Pastor Joe Boggs will officiate.  Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.  Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com
