Kent Alan Garrison, 66, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at his home.
He was born November 15, 1950, in Logansport to Vaughn and Rita Banes Garrison. On May 26, 1990, he married Cathy Winter Butzen in Monticello; she survives.
Kent graduated from Carroll High School in 1968 and then attended Ball State University. Kent was general manager for 20 years at Satellite Transport on the family farm in Bringhurst. Kent was then a salesman for Bulkmatic, Kendrick Auto Sales, WGLM Radio, and various semi-truck dealerships before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, and a Kentucky Colonel. Kent never knew a stranger; he enjoyed golfing, bird watching, playing cards, watching the Colts, hanging with his dog, Sport, and visiting with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Kent is survived by two step-sons, Brian and Tim Butzen; grandson, George; sisters, Deb Maines, Terry (Randy) Price, and Kim (Mark) Kirby; and nieces and nephew, Stephanie Gillespie, Lynley Roncone, Adam Kirby, Kylie Wurster, and Kristin Rayburn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, from 3:00 p.m. to the start of the Masonic rites at 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorials in Kentâs name may be made to the American Lung Association.
