Kristen Nicole Economou

Kristen Nicole (Gould) Economou, 28, of Mulberry, passed away at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette, on October 14, 2021. She was born on October 23, 1992, in Bremerton, Washington. She was the daughter of Jerold Gould and Denise (Rojewski) Smith. She married Daniel Mark Economou on March 27, 2020, at Mulberry Park in Mulberry; he survives.

Kristen attended Clinton Prairie school where she completed her GED. She previously worked at SIA as a metal finisher. Kristen enjoyed playing the flute, listening to Gov’t Mule, Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, and Jack White. She also enjoyed the video game Plants vs Zombies, Garden Edition with her son. Her favorite books were written by author Stephen King. Kristen’s favorite movie was Alice in Wonderland.

Kristen is survived by her father, Jerold (Jeanette) Gould, of Clarks Hill; her mother, Denise (Tom) Smith, of Mulberry; husband, Daniel Economou, of Mulberry; a son, Wylyn N. Gould; one sister, Danielle E. (Quentin) Mullen of Eastview, KY; one half-brother, Jared Wayne Gould; and three stepsiblings, Kent (Kelli) Smith, Kimberly Jo (John) Hitch, and Ken Allen (Kristina) Smith. Also surviving Kristen is her niece, Alexis, and her nephew, Gabriel. Princess Diamond, her service dog, also survives.

She is preceded in death by a step-brother, Jordan Austin Rich-Gould.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Mulberry. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Mulberry with Betty Coppock officiating. Burial will follow in the Rossville Cemetery.
