Kyle R. Elston, 35, of Delphi, a dedicated husband and loving father, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 13, 1980, in Lafayette, to Larry and Janice Ellison Elston; his parents survive. On August 2, 2003, he married the former Jennifer Yeoman on the old 1st Hole at Angel Hill Golf Course; she survives.
Kyle graduated from Rossville High School in 1999, and worked at Angel Hill Golf Course from age 14 to 21. Kyle started his career in Orthotics and Prosthetics as an Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician in 2003. In 2009, Kyle was diagnosed with melanoma brain cancer. Following his first battle with cancer, he became a Certified Shoe Fitter in 2010, with hopes and dreams of becoming a Certified Orthotist. On July 1, 2016, Kyle was presented with a honorary Certified Orthotist certification, fulfilling his dreams, with the help of the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Kyle has dedicated his adult life caring for the disabled and has continued to work, diligently giving to others, just prior to the week that he received the most recent and devastating news. Even through his long battle with cancer, when he couldn't take care of himself, Kyle was dedicated to the care of his patients; helping them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Despite all of these tribulations, Kyle continued to work and maintained a positive attitude. Prior to his diagnosis, he spent his free time enjoying golf especially teaching his sons, sharing his passion for the sport. He loved helping others, and spent every free moment he could with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, Kyle is survived by his children, Haley, Gabrial âGabe,â and Gavin; and brother, Timothy Elston of Frankfort.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Crawford officiating.
