Larry Francis Humburg, 82 of Frankfort passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born April 10, 1934 to Fred and Lila (Boys) Humburg.
Larry attended Kirklin High School and attended classes and seminars at Purdue University on agriculture to keep up with the newer technology of farming. On October 31, 1952, Larry married the former Carolyn Mavity. Together; they owned and operated a farm east of Frankfort. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #7. In 1988, Larry retired from farming and he and his wife moved to Phoenix, Arizona. In Phoenix, he was maintenance supervisor for Senior Communities. He received several awards for his skills. He even received the âSilver Awardâ for outstanding service manager.
In 2005, he and his wife moved back to Frankfort. Larry enjoyed playing cards with his friends, going on bus tours, watching the Colts and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving family includes wife Carolyn; one son, Brad (Kim) Humburg of Frankfort; two daughters, Marsha (Ron) Smith of Arizona and Kimberly Hendrix of Frankfort; eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
The visitation for Larry Humburg will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Green Lawn Chapel with Pastor Robert Palmer officiating.
