Leola Bell âLeeâ (Copas) Flora Burns, 72, of Flora, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at her home; she had been seriously ill for several years.
She was born November 30, 1942, in Boone County, the eldest daughter, of Amel G. and Mary Pauline (Sanders) Copas. Leola is preceded in death by her three husbands; Rodney Lee Flora, who died August 1973, Max D. Langston, who died February 1987, and Jerry Burns, who passed July 11, 2014 .
Leola graduated from Gamaliel High School in 1960. She lived several places throughout her life, namely Thorntown, IN, Gamaliel, KY, Celina, TN, Lafayette, IN and Flora, IN. Leola worked as a nanny and shortly afterward became a medical secretary at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She also had several part time jobs around the Flora area including Bright National Bank of Flora from which she retired. Leola enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, remodeling and decorating her home.
Leola is survived by her daughter, Pamela L. Flora of Flora; sons, Wade (Amanda) Flora of Locust Grove, GA, and Wesley W. Langston, at home; two sisters, Patricia A. (Edward) Arms of Celina, TN, and Virginia M. (Robert) Dieterle of Tecumseh, MI; five grandchildren, Nick A. (Katie) Flora, Emily-Anne (Jason) Cree, Samuel P. Flora, and Cameron W. Langston, and Kassidy Mae Jan Langston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, Leola is preceded in death by her parents, two half-brothers, Marion L. and Keith Copas; and half-sister, Betty M. (Copas) Mullinax.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Living Faith Church of the Brethren in Flora with Pastor Jeff Tomson officiating.
