Leola L. Cook

Leola L. Cook, 93, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.    

She was born October 22, 1920, in Tell City, the daughter of Harry W. and Elsie Jane Stowe Little.  On January 26, 1941, Leola married Lewis E. Cook; he preceded her in death August 7, 2002.  

Leola moved to Frankfort in 1938.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  

Surviving Leola are her children, Carol Sue (Leeland) Downs of Frankfort, and Michael Wayne (Connie) Cook of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Lewis Myers, Kimberly Schneidt, Kevin Downs, Candice Cook, and Scott Crutchfield; 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Leola was preceded in death by one son, Dennis E. Cook; two brothers, Charles Little, Morris Little; four sisters, Gladys Tate, Eva Mae Shoulders, Leona Little, and Ruth Little.    

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Leola’s name to First Baptist Church Food Pantry.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
