Leona C. Johnson, 73, Frankfort, died at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital, Monday, April 23, 2012.
She was born Oct. 15, 1938 to Jerald and Dora (Fall) Richey. Her marriage was to Donald W. Johnson on Sept. 27, 1956 and he survives.
Leona had previously lived in Boone County and had attended Lebanon schools. She worked for for Stalcop in Thorntown for 17 years, before retiring in 2000.
Surviving with her husband of Frankfort are two daughters, Pandora (husband Tim) Duncan, Frankfort and Beth (husband Larry) Proctor, Lebanon, three sons, Richey Johnson, Lebanon, Jeffery Johnson, Mechanicsburg and Lester Johnson, Rockville, two sisters, Christina Bannon, TX and Melvina Drago, Cumberland, IN, one brother Garry Richey, Indianapolis,seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Neighborhood Center, 249 S. 3rd St., Frankfort, with a meal to follow the service. Family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service.
