Letah Sarah Simpson, 97, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.
She was born December 12, 1915, in Corunna, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Margie Gerardy Rose. On October 3, 1940, she married William James Simpson; he preceded her in death May 7, 2000.
Letah graduated from Owosso (Michigan) High School and received further training at Malone College, Kletzing College, Indiana Wesleyan, and Indiana University. She served in pastorates with her husband in Marion, Galveston, Tipton, Rochester, Anderson, South Bend and Sante Fe.
Letah is survived by one son, Roy (Linda) Simpson; two daughters, Marleta (Larry) Newberg and Linda (Harry) Jones; nine grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild born July 10.
In addition to her husband, Letah is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and six brothers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel at Wesley Manor in Frankfort from 2 p.m. until the beginning of the service at 3 p.m. Pastor Jake Fisher and Chaplin Barbara Kinsler will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Letahâs name may be made to Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Manor or World Gospel Mission of Marion, IN.
