LeVaughn Stong, 90, a lifelong resident of Rossville, died on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Milner Community Health Care.
She was born July 16, 1922, in Rossville, the daughter of H.C. and Rose (Kammerer) Harper.
LeVaughn graduated from Rossville High School in 1940.
On June 27, 1948, she married William A. âBillâ Stong; he survives.
LeVaughn worked in the accounting department for Wesley Manor in Frankfort from 1961-1969. She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church where she played the organ since 1955 to the present playing her last service on August 19. LeVaughn was also a member of the Womenâs Christian Temperance Union where she held a State Office position and editor of their state newspaper, The Messenger.
Also surviving are nieces Beverly (husband, John) Bryan of Lafayette, and Rosemary (husband, Max) Underhill of Sun City, AZ.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rossville United Methodist Church with Pastor Alan Downing officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.
Memorials in LeVaughnâs name may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church or Womenâs Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.).
