Lewis Hamlin, 81, of Frankfort, died at 9 PM. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at his familyâs home.
He was born April 22, 1931, in Smith, KY, to Calvin and Fannie (Smith) Hamlin. He married Jeanette Hensley, and was later divorced.
Mr. Hamlin was a corporal in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, served from Dec. 2, 1950 to Dec. 3, 1953. He received a Purple Heart. After the military he attended a vocational school. He started working for Federal Mogul in September 1969, in Department 8 Bandberry, and retired June 1, 1993. He was a member of DAV.
He is survived by two step-sons: Russell Burke of Frankfort and Thomas Burke of Columbus, Ohio; and a cousin: Rodney Hensley.
He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Graveside funeral services with military burial rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at Bunnell Cemetery.
