Lillian Berniece James, 93, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.
She was born February 23, 1920, in New Madrid, MO, the daughter of Walter and Anna King Carr. On December 24, 1936, she married Van H. James; he preceded her in death April 6, 2012.
Berniece lived in Crawfordsville for over 40 years and recently moved to Frankfort. She was a homemaker. Berniece was a member of the Church of Christ in Crawfordsville and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking.
Surviving Berniece are her daughter, Margaret Ann Miller; three grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Ploughe, Tony (Angela) Miller, and Lanna Pugsley; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Berniece was preceded in death by one son, Hugh Gordon James; son-in-law, Phil Miller; her parents, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Berniece will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Hines officiating.
