Lillian May Knight

Lillian “Lil” May Knight, 56, of Flora, passed away at her home surrounded by family, Monday, July 30, 2018.  She was born in Lafayette on July 27, 1962 to Walter Pennington and Patricia (Clawson) Matthews.  She was a 1980 graduate of Carroll High School.  She worked at Birchwood Manor and Generations of Vernon, AL.  November 26, 1986 she married the love of her life, Gene Knight, he survives.  Lillian was a kind-hearted woman that never knew a stranger who enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, word searches, watching scary movies and “Shark Week,” being playful and joking with friends and family, but the focus of her life was her daughter, Rebecca. 

Along with her husband, Lillian is survived by her daughter Rebecca of Flora; siblings, Donna Timmons of Delphi, David (Mara) Matthews of Flora; and step sisters, Kathy Pennington and Dian Davis, both of Delphi.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dan Matthews.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Flora First Christian Church.  Pastor Kim Holley will officiate.  Burial will follow at Zion Citizens Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
