Linda L. Lewis

Linda L. Lewis, 74, of Rossville, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at her home. She was born October 29, 1950, in Marion County to Willie Hoover and Sylvia (Calvert) Morgan. She married James Lewis on July 19, 1969, and he survives.

She was a graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 1968. She worked several jobs over her years, her most recent being for Purdue University for over 8 years. She was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and LIHAC. She attended Pyrmont Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed making and gifting quilts, making ceramics, and playing card games and board games. She loved people and had a giving and caring heart. She was filled with wisdom and loved to share it with others. But more than anything she loved her family and enjoyed making memories with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her children, Paula (Phillip) Saks, Jason (Valerie) Lewis; brothers, Charles (Tammy) Longest, Arthur Longest, Jerry Longest; grandchildren, Samantha (Seth) VanderWal, Danielle (Cayden) Kennedy, Jason (Maddie) Lewis II, Jeffrey Lewis, Austyn Lewis, Shian Saks, Anthony Saks; three great grandchildren, Josephine and Jordan VanderWal and Scottie Mae Lewis, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Wanda Walker and Vinda (Charles) Foster.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4-8pm at Day and Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Funeral service will be 10am Friday, February 28 at the funeral home. Pastor Guy Studebaker will officiate. Burial will follow at Pyrmont Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
