Lisa DeWitt Amore, 64, of Rossville, passed away on August 24, 2022, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Danville, Illinois, on February 6, 1958, to William and Sue (Murray) DeWitt. She married Gerland T. “Jerry” Amore on November 6, 1993, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, Illinois.

Lisa was a 1976 graduate of Hoopeston High School in Illinois. She was a teacher’s aide at Rossville Elementary where she worked since 2001. Her love for her family, friends, and dogs was apparent in everything she did.  She took pride in her home, working in her yard and flower beds, and enjoyed being outside. She loved playing the piano and singing at Rossville Bible Fellowship. She was known for her sense of humor, was never afraid to laugh out loud or make a joke, and always knew how to be the light in any room she entered.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Matt (Emily) Amore and grandson, Oliver Amore of Indianapolis; daughter, Alyssa Amore of Brownsburg; son, Evan Amore of Lafayette; brother, Billy (Becky) DeWitt of Brookston; brother-in-law, Paul (Kim) Amore and sister-in-law, Rosie (Scott) Goudy both of Kokomo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her father, William DeWitt and mother, Sue (Murray) Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (EST) at Genda Funeral Home ~ Rossville Chapel.

Wednesday visitation and funeral location have been moved.

Visitation will also be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. (EST) at the Rossville Presbyterian Church  5434 W. State Road 26  Rossville, IN  46065.

Pastor Chris Albin will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the Rossville School Foundation  7594 N 600 W  Rossville, IN 46065.
