Lloyd Donald Fuller, 83, formerly of 3668 E. County Road 150 South, Frankfort, died at 5:15 am on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Maple Park Village in Westfield, Indiana, after being in failing health for three years.
Mr. Fuller was born August 10, 1928, in Frankfort, to the late Carl F. and Esther V. Gildersleeve Fuller. He was a graduate of Frankfort High School, class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1946-1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 where he served until 1954 during the Korean War. On December 6, 1950, he married the former Emma Joan Reno from Frankfort, at First Christian Church; she survives.
Don lived most of his life in Frankfort, and worked for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 40 years before retiring in 1987. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great, great grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, sports, and reading his bible, but, most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. He was a member of the Woodside Christian Church and also attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort. He was also a member of the Clinton County Campers Club, BLF & E, American Legion, Youth for Christ, The Interdenominational Menâs Prayer Group, Burtonwood Association, Prairie Riders Saddle Club, and the Masonic Lodge.
Also surviving are three children and spouses, Linda and Richard Hendricks of Sheridan, Loren âBuckâ and Mindy Fuller of Frankfort, and Patricia and John âPeteâ Downs of Altus, OK; 11 grandchildren, Gina Fennell, Tres Barker, Mike Hendricks, Kerry Hendricks, Missy Ream, Shari Williams, Shawn Fuller, Stephanie Fuller, Medina Franco, Nathan Downs, and Sarah Ferguson; 25 great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and two step great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Betty Price, Martha McKinney, and Margaret Wiley.
Visitation for Mr. Fuller will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4-8 pm. Services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the funeral home at 11 am with Pastor Shan Sheridan officiating with assistance from Mr. Fullerâs grandson, Tres Barker, and granddaughters, Sarah Downs, Gina Fennell, and Shari Williams. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
