Lois Catherine (Wolf) Wagoner, 87 years, slipped away from this life at her home near Pyrmont, to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 1:36 a.m.
She was born on December 12, 1927, in Carroll County, the daughter of Jesse and Pearl Wolf. On May 29, 1948, Lois married Calvin Wagoner, and they enjoyed 65 years together until his death in 2013.
Lois and Calvin started married life in Bringhurst, before later moving to a farm near Camden, then to Lake Freeman near Monticello, then California and Florida, and finally settling near Pyrmont. They attended several different Old German Baptist Brethren church districts: Bachelor Run, Deer Creek, North Fork, Olive Grove, Homestead, and Pine Grove. Lois was a joyful member of the Cutler Ridge Old German Baptist Brethren Church-New Conference.
Lois was first and foremost a wife, mother, and grandmother, an energetic caretaker of her family. This was her focus and joy. She helped in the family business and alongside Calvin during their early retirement years restoring the Pine Grove church building and grounds, opening their home, and sharing hospitality with thousands. She would cheerfully and patiently care for others, in spite of being nearly blind for many years. She has left a legacy of patient, joyful faithfulness for all who were blessed to share life with her.
